That's what Jonathan Tsang, vice president of ASUSTeK, said in an interview with The New York Times: "Our goal is to provide better products than Apple's."

In the same interview, Tsang revealed that there are technologies in his labs to rival even the Nintendo Wii in the gaming market, but that it has not yet been revealed due to lack of content to demonstrate its controls. There is also a eBooks being finalized, and the company plans to launch cell phones with “the best geo-location technology on the market today” in partnership with Garmin.

Since gaining space with the launch of the Eee PC, Asus has not stopped innovating, even producing a keyboard PC, of which we speak in March (1 and 2), and a thinner netbook, the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell. However, its biggest rival, Acer, has been winning the market by launching similar products, but at lower prices. According to Tsang, they can copy our products after six months, but we will have another product and another one. ”

Good, at least someone in the computer market is wanting to put this "arms race" to go faster. And some with potential, as Asus spends so much on engineering that there's little left for marketing.
