Asus expects to deliver between 1.2 and 1.3 million low-cost PCs by the end of the second quarter of this year. In the first three months of 2008, the company distributed 700,000 units of the EeePC, so the estimate suggests an almost doubling of equipment deliveries.

Global sales of the company’s laptops in the first three months of the year reached 1.3 million units and in the second are expected to be around 1.3 to 1.4 million units. The figures show that the EeePC already represents almost half of the company’s sales.

The company also said that it intends to continue investing in new versions of the equipment aimed at different usage needs. Contemplated is the possibility that more advanced models will appear in the functionalities and with larger screens.
