A survey released last Monday reveals that companies that made applications optimized for iMessage are gaining more space on the App Store. In the United States, the area covered by the study, there was an above-average increase in the number of downloads of these applications during the week of September 12. Some tools optimized for the messenger saw their participation in the store grow by up to 1,500%.

According to the Sensor Tower, responsible for the research, the registered growth is directly related to the versions for iMessage developed for these applications. Compared to another study on August 29, the data revealed this week show that the sudden increase in download statistics happened after the launch of iOS 10, demonstrating the success of companies that bet on launching versions with the new system’s new features launch.

In the result, it is possible to notice that the list includes applications launched in the App Store in previous years. The best growth came from JibJab, which is a tool for creating personalized stickers launched in 2014. This application grew 1,583% only in the period of the survey. Other free apps, such as GIF Keyboard, Genius, Giphy and Words With Friends also saw a significant increase in the number of downloads. The list is completed by OpenTable, Fandango Movies, Gametime, Evernote and IMDb, as shown in the research graph.

These results show that iMessage should still receive optimized applications in the coming months. Currently, the store already has more than 1,650 download options, mostly sticker packs. Among them, 944 are paid applications and only 307 are free.
