Apple's social network offers Twitter integration

Apple and Twitter will offer integration between the microblogging service and iTunes’ new social music network, Ping. The partnership will make it possible to synchronize user profiles in both services.

The news was announced yesterday on the Twitter blog, the date from which it started to be available. The message explains that, once the accounts are linked, whenever the user posts on Ping, say if he likes a song or comment, the information will be played automatically on Twitter.

Samples of the songs in question are also published on Twitter, as well as the links to buy them on the Apple online store and the reference to the themes that the user purchases on iTunes.

The integration will also make it possible to find and add friends who already «follow» on the microblogging network to the contact list on Ping, the company said.

Ping is a social network dedicated to music, launched by Apple in early September, which is integrated into the iTunes applications and on the iPhone and iPod Touch and allows you to follow and share information about music and favorite bands and receive recommendations from friends.

Two days after the launch of Ping, Apple claimed that one million users had already subscribed to the service, but the criticisms were not long in coming. Among the less positive factors pointed out were the lack of content about bands and musicians, the spam and lack of privacy settings.

At the time, it was also mentioned the lack of integration with Facebook, which was initially expected but later made impossible by the lack of agreement between the companies and on which new developments have not yet been advanced.
