Apple's new data center is ready to start operating

Last week there was a rumor that Apple could be planning to double the space occupied by its new data center in Maiden, North Carolina (United States), but better news than this is that the current infrastructure is almost ready and can start operating at any time.

THE Data Center Knowledge notes that the current state of preparations shows that Apple willingly complies with its plan to activate the new data center “by the end of this year”.

What is Apple planning for this gigantic infrastructure? An iTunes in the cloud? Mac App Store hosting? Free MobileMe? Something we don't even know about yet?
