Today there are two news reports that point to completely different things about the rumored "Apple Car", and even so it is interesting to comment. Let's go to them.
Citing own sources, the AppleInsider said that "Project Titan" (as soon as it is known internally at Apple) is going through a difficult time. In addition to losing one of the heads of the project, Apple would have frozen the hires for the car team, which currently exceeds 1,000 people after executives show dissatisfaction with his progress.
The change would have happened after a review of post-holiday progress conducted by Jony Ive (company design manager).
On the other hand, Reuters informed that Dieter Zetsche (CEO of the automobile manufacturer Daimler who has brands like Mercedes-Benz and Smart in his portfolio) was impressed by the projects of Apple and Google.
The executive recently visited Silcio Valley and said that the two companies have made more progress in their automotive car projects than he imagined.
Our impression was that these companies can do more and know more than we had previously assumed. At the same time, they have more respect for our achievements than we thought.
There were concrete conversations. I won't say anything about the content. It wasn't just about the fact that there is an innovative spirit in the Valley. We already know that. We want to see what drives them and all the things that can be created out of it.
Of the two, one: either Apple really wants to revolutionize the car market and is not satisfied with how things are going (even though it impressed a renowned executive in the industry), or Zetsche is bluffing. 😛
