Apple would be working on augmented reality digital glasses, Bloomberg says

If rumors of a car made by Apple already made us strange, imagine some smart glasses? If we have never thought about it, let's exercise our imagination right now as the new rumor that Ma would be working on a Google Glass of its own.

The rumor was vented by Bloomberg, who heard from some anonymous sources that Apple would be considering entering the digital eyewear area. According to reports, even if they consider this area a bit risky, the hope turns out to be profitable for the company.

The "secret project" would still be in the research phase, but just like Apple Watch the glasses would connect with the iPhone and show images and various other information in the user's field of vision, probably utilizing augmented reality. The product is due not before 2018, but as Apple likes to thoroughly test its products to make sure that whatever happens with Google Glass everything is working properly, this timeframe may extend further.

If we give a zoom And if we analyze all events, we can even assume that this rumor makes much more sense than we might think. For example, Apple has invested heavily in augmented reality, hired a number of experts, and even bought companies in the industry.

Previously, it was thought that Ma's focus would be virtual reality (because she has formed a team of industry experts), but as Tim Cook himself explained in several interviews, augmented reality is better because it allows people to interact so much with real world as well as the virtual one. So it is even credible that Apple is working on an augmented reality device as a few glasses than a headset virtual reality, as many other technology companies are doing today.

In addition to the company's hiring and executive statements, Ma also has several augmented reality patents for things like street mapping (such as a street view) in map applications.

Although the idea sounds interesting, the company may have problems with the hardware parts, which can be a challenge to achieve just as it was supposedly with the autonomous car design. The device needs to be as technologically advanced as it is comfortable enough for the user to be able to use it for 24 hours (or almost).

Google Glass faced a number of issues and therefore did not succeed. With the arrival of Snapchat's Spectacles, the market may begin to look at this type of wear differently even though the concept of it is, at first, different than the rumor of Apple glasses suggested. If this really is true, soon we will post more information about the project as it always does and we will be here to comment on them.
