Apple would be planning 10.2-inch and 10.5-inch iPads (not “Pro”)

It is nothing new that Apple will introduce new iPads in the not too distant future – the most vocal rumors show that the main novelty will be a new model of the “common” iPad, which may be about 10 inches. New information brought in today, however, has put a new element in the story.

Twitter user @CoinX, who has a reasonably high record of getting his information right about Apple’s plans, made a post today stating that Apple will eventually – but not at the same time – launch two iPad models, with 10.2 and 10.5 inches, neither “Pro”.

Both the iPad 7 (10.2 ″) and the “new” iPad (10.5 ″, not Pro) are coming. But not at the same time.

The rumor can confuse some heads. Launching two iPads of the same category with very similar sizes, at first glance, doesn’t make much sense. What Apple may be generating is no position them in the same category: while the “iPad 7” would take the place of the existing, lower-cost model, the “new iPad” would be an intermediate version, perhaps with some features taken from the iPad Pro and a label in the US range $ 500.

It remains to be seen when they will be released. An announcement at the event on the 25th seems increasingly unlikely, since the keynote should be all (or almost all) dedicated to the service area and Apple’s new digital platforms. We would therefore be waiting for another event – or a more discreet launch, directly on the website. It will be?

Alleged case of the new iPad mini appears on the internet

While the future of the “common” iPad is discussed, that of the iPad mini it already seems to be quite closed: it seems that the smallest tablet from Apple will get a timely update soon, with improved internal components and few visual changes. Today, the Indian blog 91Mobiles corroborated this expectation.

Supposed case for the new iPad mini

The website exposed the image (above) of a supposed case for the future model and “confirmed” that, from external changes, we will only see the repositioning of the rear microphone to the upper central part of the tablet – before, it was positioned below the camera . Otherwise, everything remains the same, as the two speakers, the Lightning input, the headphone output and the single rear camera.

With such discreet changes, it is very likely that we will see this iPad mini update announced directly on the Apple website soon. Maybe the “iPad 7” will come with it?
