Apple would be negotiating the purchase of the music streaming service TIDAL

There is news beyond the unexpected: according to Wall Street Journal (closed matter for subscribers), Apple is interested and talking to Jay Z about a possible acquisition of the TIDAL, service streaming of music that, along with Spotify, competes with Apple Music.

The rapper / entrepreneur acquired TIDAL in 2015 and even had some problems with Apple, Ma would have deliberately delayed the approval of the new service application on the App Store. However, when the discussion involves money, things change 😝

But why would Apple be interested in TIDAL? For a simple reason: the power that the service has among artists, there are even exclusive contracts that TIDAL obtains which should leave Apple standing on end. Much of it even because of the business itself, after all, Jay Z is not the only one who invests in the music service. Others, like Kanye West, Beyonc, Chris Martin and Jack White, also have a hand in the business even though the rapper is the big name behind it all, having invested $ 56 million in it.

Negotiations, however, are still going on and an agreement may not materialize, according to people familiar with the matter. It is worth noting that Apple is not the first company that would be interested in a possible acquisition of TIDAL. According to the New York Post, Samsung, Google and Spotify also thought about acquiring the company earlier this year.

Coincidentally or not, we have still seen Spotify accuse Apple of disapproving the new version of its app to favor Apple Music.

The war of streaming is with everything! We will see the next chapters of this story
