Another day, another wave of news from the infamous ?Apple Studios? (name we gave to Apple’s forays into original content productions).
Apparently, the animation feature produced in partnership with the «The Breadwinner» it will not be the only initiative aimed at children and youth at Apple. THE Variety informed that Ma, through its video content chiefs Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht, closed a partnership with Sesame Workshop, non-profit organization responsible for the children’s educational classic ?Vila Ssamo?.
The agreement stipulates that companies will collaborate in the development of series live-action and lively, as well as creating a series of puppets exclusive to Apple. It is worth noting that ?Vila Ssamo? itself is not included in the package, the long-running series continues with its exclusive exhibition contract on the PBS and HBO TV networks in the United States.
There is still no further details on the products that will be developed in the partnership, but new information about them should appear over the next few months.
«Little America» confirmed
We have already commented here on the series on immigrants «Little America», to be developed by the Oscar nominated screenwriters Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon (from ?Sick in Love?) and at showrunner Lee Eisenberg (in «The Office»).
Now the TheWrap confirmed that Apple ordered the first season of the series with eight half-hour episodes.
The program will be produced by Universal Television and described as follows:
Inspired by the real stories brought by Epic Magazine, «Little America» go beyond headlines to analyze funny, romantic, touching, inspiring and surprising stories about immigrants in the United States, now that they are more relevant than ever.
Considering the theme and the team behind the production, it seems great to know when we will have access to all of this.
Kristen Wiig out
The third news of the day is not so good: the actress Kristen Wiig left the post of protagonist of the series ?You Think It, I?ll Say It?, which is being produced by Apple in partnership with actress / producer Reese Witherspoon.
Wiig, one of the most popular comedy actresses of the moment, left the production to focus on her vile role in «Wonder Woman 1984», a sequel to the successful film starring DC Comics’ biggest superhero to debut in November 2019. The departure of the actress was confirmed by an Apple spokeswoman Variety.
The series, in turn, has an uncertain future with the stampede of its protagonist; according to the story, however, Apple is excited to move forward with its development and producers are «regrouping» to continue production.
Let’s see how this soap opera continues
