Apple Watch Series 5 will be released in Brazil on October 25

On the same day that we announced the approval of chargers for the Apple Watch Series 5 by Anatel, Apple Brazil today updated its website confirming the date that the new generation of the watch will be launched in our country: October 25, an exact week after the arrival of the iPhones 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.

The page already indicates that all the different models (with the exception of Hermès) will be launched together in Brazil: the traditional aluminum and stainless steel, the Edition (titanium or ceramic) and the Nike line.

Approval of GPS + Cellular models

The confirmation is curious by the fact that, so far, the National Telecommunications Agency has not confirmed the approval of the models with cellular connectivity of the Apple Watch Series 5 – only the models A2092 (40mm) and A2093 (44mm), which are aluminum only with GPS.

On the other hand, we at MacMagazine we found that yes, the models A2156 (40mm) and A2157 (44mm) are already included in Anatel’s system – only the Homologation Certificate has not been published so far.

Apple Brazil probably already knows that everything is in compliance and, therefore, it felt safe to announce the launch date of the product.

As expected, these are the Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) models sold in Europe. Even so, the American models this year are also compatible with the 3 (1,800MHz) and 7 (2,600MHz) 4G bands used by Brazilian operators – and we already have confirmation that, at least at Claro, they are working perfectly.

For now, there is no information on the prices of these new models in national territory.
