Another day, another wave of news from Apple TV +! Shall we go to them?

Original podcasts

Much has been said about Apple’s interest in stepping up its podcasts with original productions – including programs linked to the Apple TV + series, to provide exclusive details about the productions and draw public attention. For recently the Bloomberg arrived with more details about the project!

According to the report, Apple is seeking leadership for its original podcasts initiative – someone who would respond directly to the current podcast boss at Apple, Ben Cave. The idea is that this new executive will lead the creation of programs based on the Apple TV + series, such as the podcast about «Little America» which will debut soon.

The Apple is also working in the opposite direction, however: according to Bloomberg, the company intends to acquire the exclusive rights to more podcasts – giving preference to productions that can eventually be adapted as series on its platform. This would not be new in Cupertino: the future series “The Shrink Next Door” starring Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell, for example, will be based on a namesake podcast.

With that, once again, Apple puts itself as a direct competitor of the Spotify: the Swedish platform has not disguised its investment in the world of podcasts – and has even invested more than $ 100 million in the program’s exclusive rights “The Joe Rogan Experience”, currently # 1 on Apple Podcasts.

That is, the fight will be good.

«Little Voice»

Meanwhile, Apple released the first image and release date of «Little Voice», his musical series produced by filmmakers JJ Abrams (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”) and Jessie Nelson (“Uma Lição de Amor”), in addition to the musician Sara Bareilles. Production will debut on the day July 10 next.

Brittany O’Grady in «Little Voice»

Defined as a “love letter to the diverse musicality of New York”, the series tells the story of Bess King (Brittany O’Grady), a singer struggling for her place in the sun while dealing with rejection, loving weather and family problems. Bareilles, in addition to producing, composed original music for the series.

Trailer of «Dear …»

Apple also released the first trailer for its version of Faustão’s “Confidential Archive”: the documentary series «Dear …», in which each episode will profile a celebrity through letters sent by fans and people who have been touched by his work and work:

Inspired by the video «Dear Apple», from Apple Watch, the first season of the series will feature figures like Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Spike Lee, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Stevie Wonder. The initial ten episodes will be made available on the platform at Day 5 next.

More information about the special episode of «Mythic Quest»

Finally, we have already talked about the special episode of «Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet» fully filmed with iPhones. Because, in an interview with Hollywood Reporter, the series creator and star, Rob McElhenney, gave more details about the contract.

Disclosure of

According to the actor, the idea for the episode – which shows the characters in the series having to work from home because of social isolation – was immediately bought by Apple executives, who sent 40 iPhones and 20 pairs of headphones (AirPods , presumably?) for the series team. The entire episode was written, filmed and edited in less than three weeks.

The filming was done with each actor communicating with the team via Zoom (hum…) – some of the calls even had up to 45 people communicating simultaneously, including. With the completion of the filming of each scene, the iPhones used were sterilized, packaged, placed in a safe area and sent to the series’ editing team, who gathered all the content and edited the episode (remotely, too).

McElhenney’s full interview can be seen here. Good job guys!
