Apple updates special version of iTunes that still supports installing applications

If you have just arrived in the iPhone world, know that in the old days applications could be saved on the computer and synced to the device via iTunes. This was especially useful when for some reason the app disappeared from the App Store and you still needed to use it. In this case, if you still had a copy of it, just install it again on the computer.

With the launch of iOS 11, this was no longer done, and the user was forced to download directly from the App Store. Later, the apple saw that many companies still depended on iTunes to install applications on hundreds of devices used by employees, and so it released a special version, which maintained support for installing App Store apps.

And it was this special version that was updated this week.

If you are one of those who still keep hundreds of copies of applications and like to keep them updated, this version (12.6.5) is for you. Here are the links to download it:

One detail: this version is incompatible with the new macOS Mojave. Therefore, if you have already upgraded or plan to upgrade to the new system, consider reworking your application management mode.

If you don’t care to save apps to your computer and are happy to download them right from the App Store when you need them, then you can continue using the most current version of iTunes, no problem.
