Apple updates AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule with Wi-Fi hardware improvements

Complementing earlier updates on several product lines, Apple has released updated editions of AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule, which offer improvements to both Wi-Fi hardware. They bring improvements to the simultaneous operation of the antenna signal, in addition to speeding up automatic backup with the Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or 10.6 Snow Leopard Time Machine.

The new technology for the Time Capsule now allows backups with speed gains of up to 60% on the new Apple system, compared to the models introduced last year, this gain was only 50%. But what I really mean in this device and in AirPort Extreme is the new technology Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) for the transmission of Wi-Fi signal in dual-band, which allows general gains of up to 50% in performance and 25% in coverage.

The new Time Capsule is only being offered in the United States for the time being, for the same prices of $ 300 (1TB) and $ 500 (2TB). The new AirPort Extreme now costs $ 180, and all of them will begin shipping this Friday.
