Apple TV + will have Stephen King series with Julianne Moore; Prince Harry to do mental health program with Oprah

It even seems strange to continue reporting news on the Apple TV + now that the service has been officially announced, it is endorsed by a number of celebrities and will arrive sometime in the northern hemisphere’s summer – somehow, it seems that things now have more weight. The fact is that we already have news regarding Apple’s original content platform, and let’s take a look at them now.

«Lisey’s Story»

The first recent news, as it brought the Hollywood Reporter, is the arrival of yet another very promising project on the platform: Apple will produce an adaptation of the book «Lisey’s Story», in Stephen King, in series format and starring the Oscar winner Julianne Moore. The best part? King himself will act as a production scriptwriter.

«Lisey’s Story» it is a psychological horror story with elements of romance, telling the journey of a woman who begins to be pursued by a fan of her late husband, a famous writer; at the same time, the narrative goes back in time and shows the life of the said writer through her memories, revealing long-repressed truths. King, writer of classics like “O Iluminado” and “It – A Coisa”, considers this one of his best works.

Apple has ordered eight episodes of the series, which will be produced by JJ Abrams (already in his third job with Apple, after «Little Voice» and “My Glory Was I Had Such Friends”) and Ben Stephenson. King and Moore will also be executive co-producers on the show.

One word: I want to.

Prince Harry

It’s not just Hollywood megacelebrities that Apple is getting involved in – even the British Crown is in Cupertino’s plans.

The Instagram of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for intimates) today announced that Prince Charles’ youngest son will collaborate with Oprah Winfrey in the development of one of its series for Apple TV + – more precisely, production focused on mental health.

Prince Harry

The prince shared the following words about the collaboration:

I strongly believe that good mental health – mental training – is the key to powerful leadership, productive communities and purposefully imbued beings. It is a huge responsibility to do this the right way as we bring the facts, science and awareness of such an important issue today. Our hope is that this series will be positive, enlightening and inclusive – sharing global stories of unique human spirits overcoming the darkest places and the opportunity to better understand ourselves and those around us. I am extremely proud to work with Oprah on this very important series.

There is still no more information about the Oprah series with Prince Harry or how the Duke will collaborate with the production; what is known is that the show, given its schedule still in the early stages of development, should take a little longer to debut – which is also true for the other series being developed by Oprah, about harassment in the workplace.

Curious, isn’t it? Let’s see what this mixture will do.
