We are back with many news related to Apple TV +, platform streaming of Apple videos. Ready for the latest news? Come on!
THE deadline reported that Apple is finalizing negotiations to rely on Cecily Strong (“Saturday Night Live”) in a musical comedy.
Written by the duo Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio (“Despicable Me”), the untitled series follows a couple in a backpack with the intention of reinvigorating the relationship when they discover the magical city of Schmigadoon. In it, everyone acts as if they were in a studio musical from the 1940s. They then discover that they cannot leave until they find “true love”.
If he agrees with Apple, Strong will star and produce the series, while Paul will be the showrunner and Daurio will act as a producer / consultant.
Jen Tullock and Zach Cherry in “Severance”
Still according to the deadline, Jen Tullock (“Before You Know It”) and Zach Cherry (“You”) were hired to act with Patricia Arquette, Adam Scott and Britt Lower in “Severance”, police drama to be directed and produced by Ben Stiller.
Created by Dan Erickson, the drama series will take place in the workplace of a fictional company, called Lumen Industries, which aims to “take the balance between work and personal life to a new level”. Tullock will play Devon, Mark’s sister (Scott); Cherry will play Dylan, one of Mark’s employees.
We already mentioned that Apple ordered episodes of the series “Foundation”, by Isaac Asimov – the production already has its protagonists. Now the deadline stated that it has everything to become Ireland’s greatest production ever.
At a press conference in Dublin, the country’s national funding agency for series and films commented on the 2020 production list, noting that the Apple series will create more than 500 jobs when filmed at Troy Studios in Limerick.
The ten-episode series will chronicle the epic saga of The Foundation, a group of exiles who discover that the only way to save the galactic empire from destruction is to challenge it.
