Apple TV gets 11 new underwater screen savers

Apple TV 4K

Apple released this week 11 new underwater screen savers to the Apple HD and 4K TVs (4th and 5th generation, respectively). If your set-top box is configured to display the screen saver Aerial, then the system will automatically download the new videos (if this option is enabled).

The new ones screensavers are available in 1080p and 4K, which means they will be displayed on any Apple TV compatible with tvOS 13.

The new batch of videos includes images of coral reefs and the (amazing) close-ups underwater species such as rays and humpback whales, as well as a group of dolphins. Those who liked the jellyfish videos will be even more happy to learn that Apple added two more similar ones, this time with Alaskan jellyfish.

With recent additions, the total of screensavers Apple TV increased to more than 80 options – you can check them all here. It is worth noting that the company does not follow a standard for adding new screen savers to tvOS, although it does so periodically.

To view the overhead screensavers on your Apple TV, simply access Settings »General» Screensaver and choose the “Air” option. Remember that you need to configure the feature to download new screensavers periodically, otherwise any new additions will not be displayed.
