If you have any doubt that the focus of Apple these days is much more on developing new technologies that eventually arrive on its products than on products in itself, just look at the amount of news related to opening and planning Research and Development of Ma in recent times.
Now we have one more of this type, and again in Asia: the Minister of Communication and Information of Indonesia, speaking to the local website Time, reports that Apple is planning to open an R&D center in Jakarta.

Although the exact location is yet to be confirmed next month, it is known that the construction and contracting phase for the center would start as early as 2017. The minister also informed that he already knows the value of Apple's investment in the country, but did not reveal the cipher.
With this announcement, we can have a clear idea that outside Cupertino, Asia is the place chosen by Apple to open its R&D centers. We have already seen announcements related to this in India, China, Japan and now in Indonesia which is easily explained by the consolidated technological tradition (and training) of these countries, which also represent very important markets for Tim Cook and his gang.
We hope, therefore, that our Asian friends will be able to create interesting news for Ma's products, which, frankly, have been somewhat disappointed in recent times.
