Apple sponsors Israeli event focused on artificial intelligence; Tim Cook becomes co-chairman of Chinese event

As we reported here on the site, Apple has already sponsored some events around the world, such as the BSides SF security conference and the 50th edition Super Bowl Committee. In other words, participating in a more direct way in some event is not something that is relevant to her. Now, however, the company has expanded this initiative internationally by being one of the sponsors of Israel Machine Vision Conference (IMVC) 2018.

As the conference website itself indicates, Apple is a silver sponsor, alongside Qualcomm yes, after all, IMVC has absolutely nothing to do with the legal dispute between the giants, which has already spread worldwide.

In addition to being a sponsor, Apple will also participate in the event as an exhibitor (exhibitor). Eitan Hirsh, who leads the company's depth detection research and development team, speaks about the technologies involved in the front camera of the iPhone X (TrueDepth).

Let's take an overview of the iPhone X's TrueDepth camera system, its design and capabilities. We will also describe the algebraic layers that are used in some of the features that allow and describe how it can be used by developers.

IMVC is a conference focused on all types of machine learning and artificial intelligence, covering topics that include AI, deep learning, autonomous learning, eye tracking, robotics and much more. The event will take place on March 6, in Tel Aviv (Israel's second largest city).

Apple, as we highlighted in the , has a very close relationship with the country; In addition to an office and research & development centers, Ma has acquired several startups/ Israeli companies (RealFace, LinX, Anobit, among others).

Event in China

On a related note, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) being co-chairman of the China Development Forum in 2018, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

It is an annual meeting designed to promote dialogue between the Chinese government and global business leaders. In the event's co-chair hall, we already had executives like Mark Fields (Ford CEO) and Doug Oberhelman (Caterpillar chief executive).

It is worth noting that the event itself is not new to Cook; in 2017, in addition to participating in the event, he spoke on topics such as globalization, economics and privacy.

After Apple's recent decisions to comply with Chinese laws, there is no shortage of topics to discuss
