Gradually, the Cupertino giant is closing new contracts and adding even more productions to the catalog of its service streaming of videos, the Apple TV +.
It is worth noting that Apple TV + is not only made in series: Apple has also invested in some film productions such as «The Banker», “The Elephant Queen” and «Hala» – and is about to produce his next film, as we will see below.
«Swan Song»
As we said, Apple recently announced a new feature film: «Swan Song» («Song of the Swan», in literal translation).
The work will be produced and starring the Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight: Under the Moonlight”), who will play the character Milo. The film will go into production at the end of March, but it still doesn’t have an expected release date.
“Swan Song ” it is described as a drama that takes place in the «near future», in which it is explored how far someone goes to «make the lives of their loved ones happier».
The company’s director of asset development and acquisitions, Matt Dentler, said the roadmap for «Swan Song», written by Benjamin Cleary («Stutterer»), immediately connected with the Apple TV + proposal:
Benjamin’s script for «Swan Song» immediately connected with us. We can’t wait to combine Benjamin’s vision with Mahershala’s undeniable talent to deliver this powerful story to audiences worldwide.
According to Apple, «Swan Song» will be released initially in theaters (as with other productions) before being added to the service. In addition to the aforementioned films, he will join other titles such as «Boys State», «Wolfwalkers», «Beastie Boys Story», etc.
Trailer of “Amazing Stories”
This week, Apple also shared another novelty: the trailer for “Amazing Stories” (“Wonderful Stories”), his next science fiction series to be released on March 6. The series is a recreation of the homonymous production of the 1980s, created by Steven Spielberg, which also produces it.
Check out the trailer below.
“Amazing Stories” was one of the first productions that Apple signed up for its service, and each episode will focus on a new theme, similar to «Black Mirror» and «Twilight Zone». According to Apple, «each episode will transport the audience to wonderful worlds through the lens of the most imaginative filmmakers, directors and writers today.»
“Amazing Stories” will star Dylan O’Brien («Maze Runner», «Teen Wolf»), Victoria Pedretti («You»), Josh Holloway («Lost», «Yellowstone»), Sasha Alexander (“Rizzoli & Isles”, «Shameless») and Robert Forster («Twin Peaks»).
