Apple should allow the distribution of paid content in the News app on iOS 9

You have most likely already visited some site with paid content. It is quite common, for example, for newspapers to have this business model both here in Brazil and abroad.

News application on an iPad and an iPhone with iOS 9

One of the great news of iOS 9 was the arrival of the app News. It is available in a few countries, but it still has over 40 million users (or more, since Apple recently discovered a flaw in it that may have pushed the number down).

But what can you do to get paid content providers into News? Currently, publications have two alternatives: share full articles or just a part of them, with a link directing to the full article on the website itself (which requires login / subscription to read).

According to the Reuters, Apple is working to enable this type of paid / full content on the app, giving publications supported by paywalls a new form of content distribution. It is not yet known how this will happen, how to authenticate subscribers, or whether Apple will also allow users to subscribe to the vehicle through News itself (most likely biting a portion of the revenue from those subscriptions).

Analyzing Apple's history even with the late Banking (Newsstand), this news in the News really makes a lot of sense.
