Apple series can be viewed for free on a revamped TV app, says report

Aplicativo TV em iPad e iPhone

The news about original apple productions they go out every day in increasing volumes, but no one has yet a clear vision of how Apple will distribute that amount of content. Now, the CNBC arrived with a story that can give us some clues in relation to the subject.

Citing sources familiar with Apple’s plans, the story said the company was planning a renewal of its app TV, which would become the epicenter of your audiovisual content experience – not only with original series, but also with the programming of other streaming. In other words, you would have access to Apple programs in the same environment and, upon payment of the respective subscriptions, access to series of services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and HBO Go (everything depends on Apple’s agreements with these companies, clear).

The most interesting part? According to the report, Apple will not charge anything so your users can watch your original productions – if you have access to the TV app (or, in other words, if you have a modern iPhone, iPad or Apple TV), access to Apple programming is guaranteed. This already happens, in fact, with the “Carpool Karaoke”, but it is still unclear whether it will extend to all original programs and series eventually released by Apple or only a portion of them.

The prospect of a subscription service, however, is still real. According to the sources, Apple would be looking to create attractive franchises (like «Game of Thrones» is for HBO or «Stranger Things» is for Netflix) that, later on, would give the company the condition to start this second move, in which, yes, users would have to start paying a monthly amount to access selected content from their library.

The strategy may be the explanation for the fact that, at this first moment, Apple is producing only series “for the whole family” and without heavy content of sex or violence: as reporter Alex Sherman stated, after all, “if this content it will be distributed free of charge to all users of the platform, it must be free for all audiences ”. Perhaps, when starting the paid subscription project, Apple could include more adult content in its productions – but that’s just a hunch.

According to the report, the new TV app with the first original Apple productions would arrive in early 2019, corroborating previous predictions made by Apple. Bloomberg. Will it give broth?
