Apple confirmed to The Verge that YouTube will no longer have a standard app on iOS 6. An Apple spokesman explained that the license to keep the app on the operating system has ended.
«Our license to include the YouTube app on iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube on the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the App Store,» the company said in an official note.
While this may seem like a negative thing for Google, the move brings a number of benefits to the internet giant, including the possibility of monetizing videos and controlling the experience for users.
