Apple removes 11 categories from the Mac App Store [atualizado: voltaram!]

After years of waiting, the Mac App Store finally received a store bath this year at macOS Mojave, and is now much more visually pleasing.

One of the most used ways for those looking for a particular app is browse categories and, until recently, the Mac App Store had 21 areas in total – just like the iOS App Store. However, as noted by the MacRumors, Apple decided remove 11 of them from there.

Among the areas removed are Finance, Lifestyle, Sports, Weather, Travel, Education, Reference, News and others. The change, at least according to a reply from @AppleSupport on Twitter, is intentional – it just doesn’t seem to make much sense.

The full list of App Store categories remains listed on this page for developers, too. We’ll see if Apple will stick to that decision.
