Apple releases watchOS 6.2.1 to fix FaceTime bug

After releasing iOS / iPadOS 13.4.1 yesterday, Apple today released the watchOS 6.2.1 (build 17T530) with the same purpose: to correct a problem related to FaceTime. The new version of the watch’s operating system arrives just over two weeks after the release of watchOS 6.2.

In the company’s words, version 6.2.1 resolves the bug in which devices with watchOS 6.2 could not participate in FaceTime audio connections with devices running iOS 9.3.6 and earlier or OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and earlier.

To update your watch, you have two options:

By iPhone

Just open the Watch app on your iPhone and, in the “My Watch” tab, go to General »Software Update. It is worth noting that the device must necessarily be connected to its magnetic charger and with at least 50% battery.

From watchOS 6, users can also update via the watch itself. To do this, open the app Settings »General» Software Update and follow the instructions on the screen.
