With the launch of the new Apple TV, it is expected that many developers will start working on experiments for televisions using the new platform. Members of the Apple development program can now access the company's website to download the tvOS, operating system that allows the development of native applications. THE Xcode 7.1 Beta (build 7B60), also released today, contains the SDK (software development kit, or software development kit) for creating software.
In the documentation released today, Apple highlights the possibility for users to access the same product from companies with a single download (paid or free) and access their services from wherever they are, indicating activity on one device and quickly switching to others during the day. Design material is also available to assist in the design of interfaces.
However, tests with otvOS and their apps require one of the new Apple TVs. As the device is not available for purchase, the company will provide an opportunity for selected companies to have access to a preliminary development kit, containing a device unit.
Interested parties must register on the Apple developer website until Friday, September 11, for selective and announcement of the chosen ones on Monday, the 14th. The deliveries of the kits will be made only in the following countries:
- United States
- New Zealand
- United Kingdom
- Czech Republic
For designers using Photoshop, Apple is also offering a software utility, quite interesting, for greater convenience in testing images for Apple TV applications. This is the Parallax Previewer, a product that works in an integrated way with the Adobe's Parallax Exporter plugin.
With it you can open files exported from Photoshop and analyze the behavior of icons or layered images created for tvOS. If the designer works with another solution to create these images, Parallax Previewer can also assemble and export these final images for testing.
The download is available together with the SDK for tvOS.
