Apple releases RAID Card (Early 2009) Firmware Update 1.1

Practically a month after launching the first firmware update for its RAID Cards, Apple today released version 1.1 of the same update, recommended for all Macs Pro (Early 2009) and Xserve (Early 2009) users using these components.

The update includes several fixes, including:

  • Reliability improvements during boot and recovering from power failure;
  • Improvements in working with hard drives that contain bad blocks;
  • Performance increase in RAID 1 reading;
  • Increased HD compatibility with non-Apple drives;
  • Support for systems with 48GB of memory or more;
  • Various gains in battery management and registration.

After the installer is run, the machine's RAID firmware version should be E-1.3.2.0.
