A few days after updating the EFI Firmware of virtually all recent Macs, Apple today released a new update specifically for users of 15-inch MacBooks Pro released in late 2008 (Late 2008).
According to Apple, MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.8 fixes a graphical issue that could cause flickering on the internal monitor.
The update can be applied on Mac OS X 10.5.8 / 10.6.8 / 10.7.3 or higher and weighs 1.79MB.
