This second update is intended not only for MacBooks Air released in mid-2013, but also for early 2014.

According to Apple, the new update improves the reliability of the machines when returning from the mode sleep and when booting with certain USB / Thunderbolt devices connected. In addition, it also fixes a “rare” memory problem that could cause the system to restart at random, as well as a bug that prevented the system from entering sleep when an external monitor was connected and running Windows via Boot Camp.

The MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 2.8 weighs just 4.8MB.
