Apple today released the 2009 Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0, an update that improves the battery performance of its latest wireless keyboards when used in conjunction with other Bluetooth devices such as Magic Mouses and Bluetooth headsets.

The problem was serious and was first reported by us in early January.

The update requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or 10.6.2 (or higher) and weighs just 1.14MB. More details about it can be found in this Apple support article.
