Apple registers several patents in the United States, even describing protection techniques for different devices

A number of new Apple patents have recently been filed in the United States, presenting diverse ideas for new product hardware and software. It is not known why such a large number of inventions were revealed at once: normally, only two or three appear there at a time.

Apple patent

Among them, there is a viscous and elastic material, to be applied to parts of electronic devices for the protection of internal components. Apparently, this would serve to maximize the protection of a device against various types of impact, and the properties of this material would be different depending on the product to be protected.

In another invention, Apple describes the operation of an audio equalization interface for gadgets in general, but with the objective of being automatically configured for the reproduction of each type of content. To achieve this proposal, means are presented to establish correspondence between media files with this new equalizer (including the use of metadata), which could act on the musical genre, on the artist or any other criteria.

Apple has also filed a patent for some techniques for transferring status information between an accessory and a device, through a secure physical connection between both that may also be able to support audio input / output or video output. The same document also describes the operation of a standard protocol for controlling functions present in gadgets, through this type of connection.

In a fourth patent proposal, the action of an ambient light sensor with more than one purpose is explained, since the only reason for the current existence of this device is to control brightness with different effects for the monitor and the backlit keyboard of a notebook, good to remember . Apple also makes reference to additional techniques to improve the accuracy of this sensor in certain situations when using a computer.

Another invention proposed by Apple describes extra behavior in application interfaces or operating systems. Based on sound effects, they would be present in operations / movements of objects, providing extra feedback to the user of how their actions are interpreted by the computer.

Finally, a latest Apple patent describes new effects of automatic memory management for Mac OS X applications, which would not only act by their process, but also by their respective threads running. This would serve to increase the efficiency of computers using RAM, when working with applications prepared to take advantage of processors with more than one core.
