Apple proposes new technology to detect abusive damages in its products

To improve its warranty breach detection solutions, Apple is proposing a new system in a recently discovered patent, capable of recording in its internal memory several different types of accidents that can prove the abuse of a certain product by the user . Such a novelty would be a huge advance in relation to the technique that the company currently uses in iPhones, iPods and MacBooks, which allows specialized technicians to identify their submergence in liquids, through a physical indicator.

Apple Patent - Sensors to identify loss of warranty

Everything would be recorded digitally in this new model, where each entry would include the date and type of occurrence. For the product itself, the new technology also means greater safety, since if a particular event is really detrimental to its operation, it can be automatically turned off.

In a different way, the system can serve several different parts of the device, such as its screen, CPU, memory and storage devices (removable or not). Connected to it would be several types of sensors, to identify abuses in the operating temperature, drops, submerges and other types of changes not covered by Apple's guarantees, which are normally not correctly analyzed by authorized service centers.

To avoid problems with customers, technicians who encounter currently damaged products are forced to carry out repair and / or replacement procedures under warranty when they cannot prove such types of damage.
