Apple promotes branding for one billion downloaded apps. Brazilians are left out.

Apple today announced a beautiful promotion to celebrate the mark of a billion applications downloaded on App Store since its creation, on July 11, 2008. And the prizes are fantastic: a 32GB iPod touch, a 17-inch MacBook Pro, a Time Machine and a Gift Card 10,000 dollars!

Billion Rewards

To participate is easy: just download an app from the App Store, paid or free, which is already entitled to participate in the draw. You can even download anything that is already participating!

However, since our country does not yet have a iTunes Store (only one section for apps, no games), Brazilians will not be able to be part of this promotion.

Only residents of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada (less Quebec, les pauvres), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, in addition to the United States. Not fair, since a large part of this one billion was thanks to the rest of the world …

And there’s no point in thinking that using the American App Store to download an app is worth it, because the vast majority here used a fake address, which in itself, cancels participation. The only solution is to find someone you know with a valid address in the United States or in any other country mentioned above, that you can participate in. But this acquaintance has to be very trustworthy, so as not to get the prize later… ?
