Apple promises to fix bug in the iOS 11 Accessibility feature that makes it difficult to access the Notification Center

O iOS 11 arrived and, with it, some limitations / bugs that upset the lives of many users around the world. One of them is the absence of the 3D Touch gesture to activate the multitasking menu, which is already being properly corrected and coming back once in iOS 11.1; others, however, still do not know exactly which destination they will have.

For example: some may not know about the resource Achievability (Reachability) of iOS, but it is a very useful feature especially for owners of iPhone Plus models that touch (without pressing) the Start button twice in a row to slide the entire smartphone interface down, allowing elements at the top of the screen are easily reached.

Achievability

Traditionally, this feature has also included the Notification Center; that is, when it is activated, it was enough to slide your finger from top to bottom just above the “line of apps” (in the middle of the screen) to evoke your notifications. In iOS 11, however, that has changed: now, even with Achievability active, it is necessary to take your finger to the top of the screen to see the Notification Center, which is not very good from the point of view of usability, since this is the gesture that it requires more “gymnastics” of the fingers because it involves just the highest point of the screen.

Apple did not comment on the reason for the change in the behavior of the function, but it is easy to assume that it has to do with the change of the Notification Center in iOS 11, which is now basically a replica of the system Lock Screen until the big clock. centralized and the wallpaper are the same. The fact that a reader of the MacRumors contacted Apple Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi, asking if there was any chance of seeing the behavior restored to his status original.

Craig's reply was short and blunt: "We are fixing it."

The use of the word “fixing”, in context, says a little more than the surface shows: of course, he may have expressed himself badly, but apparently the change is more of a bug (or something not predicted by Apple) than a deliberate change on the part of Ma which is being reviewed after requests from users.

Well, the fact that users of the Achievability feature will not need to be bothered for a long time; It is not yet known how long we have been talking about. The beta 2 of iOS 11.1 still does not have the bug fix, but it is possible that a future test version of the update already addresses this issue. Or we won't have to wait and see.
