In conjunction with the launch of Apple Music for Android, Apple today announced the “Proactive Assistant”, a proactive assistant that promises to stand up to and compete with Google Now.
Unlike Google Now which collects information from users when compiling information from Gmail and other products, Proactive Assistant will work with information generated by users on their own devices.
“We are going to do it in a way that does not compromise your privacy… we honestly don’t want to know. All of this is done on the device, ”said an Apple spokesman.
Even without a source of information that can actively feed you, Proactive Assistant will be able to learn and suggest apps depending on how you use the device.
However, due to its limitations, Proactive Assistant should not interfere with Now’s reign on cell phones.
