As part of the promise to anabolicise Apple Podcasts, the company has begun to release some timely changes to its audio program platform, more precisely with respect to the app categories, giving more visibility to specific content.
This way, you can now view on the “Explore” tab a new “Explore by Category” section with horizontal navigation that displays different podcast content, including: Arts, Business, Media, Education, Government, Health, Fitness, and many others.
When a category is selected, users can browse through the “Top Programs” and “New Programs. Some of the listings also fall into additional subsections: the "TV and movie" category, for example, includes sections like "TV reviews", "behind the scenes" and "movie stories". Changes are also available on iTunes.
The new additions were originally introduced last June during WWDC19, when Apple stated that in addition to new categories, it would also rename some categories for clarity.
