In mid-December, Banco Bradesco started accepting Visa debit cards in the Apple Pay and, on that occasion, the MacMagazine reported that there were indications that the Neon he would be the next to join the Apple mobile payment system in Brazil.
Well here it is, finally! ?
The reader Lucas Garcia managed to successfully add both your credit card (“Credit on Invoice”) and prepaid card (“Credit on Time”) on Apple Pay, as shown in the images below:
Two other readers of MM have already confirmed that they have successfully added their Neon cards to Apple Pay, indicating that it is even a general release.
The novelty is quite significant because Neon is becoming the first 100% Brazilian digital bank to enter Apple Pay. Until then, in addition to the aforementioned Bradesco, we had only large institutions such as Banco do Brasil, Itaú and Porto Seguro – check out our complete guide of supported cards.
A few months ago there were also signs that Apple Pay would gain support for American Express (AMEX) cards in Brazil, but for now this has not yet been released.

While the MacMagazine still awaiting an official position from Neon on the news, we started to receive some reports from readers who are no longer able to register their bank cards on Apple Pay.
It may be that the release was suspended, therefore, or perhaps the intention was to open the tests to more people before it was actually made official.

THE MM has just received an official statement from Neon:
Neon Payments is always looking to improve and expand its offer of services and products, to make life easier for its customers. This involves constantly testing new features. During a test, some users were able to register their Neon cards on Apple Pay, but this integration is not released. Neon will communicate when there is news.
Well, unfortunately it is not yet officially released, but it remains rooted for today’s test to be a good indication that it will not take long to happen. We’ll be connected.
