The last major expansion of Apple Pay in Brazil involved the arrival of Porto Seguro credit cards (Visa flag). However, to date, considering the “pure” debit scenario, only Ita cards were supported.
Please note that PoupCard debit cards (both Visa and Elo) are accepted as well as Combo (credit and debit from both Ita and Banco do Brasil). But, as I said, when it came to the “pure” debit card issue, only one bank was part of the party. Fortunately, that has changed.
The reader Lauro Garmatter informed us that he was able to register his Bradesco “pure” debit card. O learned from various sources and confirmed that, in fact, it is already possible to register such cards (Visa flags) on the Apple Pay Elo flag cards were already accepted.
Neither Bradesco nor Apple have so far issued news releases. As always, there are two possibilities:
- The bank is extending testing support for these cards and blocking new registrations soon;
- Official support is even approaching and will be communicated very soon by the companies.
Regardless of the scenario, if you are an account holder Bradesco and have a debit card, register and share your experience in the comments below. 😊
