Apple Pay arrives today in Spain, the 13th country to receive the service of mobile payments

Today the Apple Pay arrived in 13 countries to be awarded support for the mobile payments service: Spain. The date exactly matches the one revealed by the Spanish website Applesfera yesterday.

Initially, Apple Pay will work with American Express and Mastercard. For now, the cards that can be used are AMEX, Carrefour Pass, Ticket Restaurant and Santander. According to the bank's page, Santander is the first financial institution to offer Apple Pay in Spain, with the collaboration of Redsys and Mastercard.

Users can already use Apple Pay in basically 27 stores including Bershka, Carrefour, Cepsa, Cortefiel, C&A, Media Markt, Repsol, Starbucks, among many others. BP and Fnac are in line to receive the news soon.

Since 2014, Apple Pay has expanded to only 13 countries: Australia, Canada, China, Spain, United States, France, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Russia, Singapore and Switzerland. As can be seen, Apple's efforts have focused on Asia and Europe; The next country that is likely to support the service is Germany.
