Apple orders original series about Hilde Lysiak; Aaron Paul joins the cast of "Are You Sleeping?"

While the first series and dramas produced by Apple should be released only in the first months of 2019, the Cupertino giant continues to invest heavily in its series catalog. Last May, we commented that the company had announced a new title for the video service; now the magazine Variety confirmed that Apple has ordered yet another original production.

According to the magazine, Apple has already closed the production of ten episodes of a series about the experience of Hilde Lysiak, a 12-year-old journalist who exposed a murder in her hometown in 2016. Lysiak’s case has captured the attention of the media around the world due to her investigative skills, and has also attracted quite a few critics.

Today, the young journalist works with children and adolescents to train influencers, activists and leaders of the next generation. In addition, Lysiak writes for the newspaper Orange Street News and the youngest member of the US Society of Professional Journalists.

Dana Fox screenwriter of the movie ?Love Game in Las Vegas? and Dara Resnik will be creators and producers of the series. Other names released for the series production include Joy Gorman Wettels and Sharlene Martin, who starred in the 1989 film ?Friday the 13th, Part VIII?.

New actors in the cast of «Are You Sleeping?»

The dramatic series «Are You Sleeping?» has already undergone some changes in the cast since it was announced at the beginning of the year. Now, new names have been released by the magazine Variety to compose the original Apple series.

According to the report, the actors must participate in the drama Aaron Paul (from the show «Breaking Bad»), Ron Cephas Jones (from the series «This Is Us»), Elizabeth Perkins and Haneefah Wood. Among the names already confirmed are Octavia Spencer (Oscar winner for Histrias Cruzadas) and Lizzy Caplan.

The original Apple series, written by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and produced by Reese Witherspoon, one thriller psychological based on a novel written by Kathleen Barber. The book, which bears the same name as the series, focuses on a podcast that reopens a murder case and the public’s obsession with events involving undisclosed crimes.

Apple has not yet released a specific date for the Hilde Lysiak series launch or for «Are You Sleeping?», because the service of streaming her video as a whole needs to be officially released.
