In addition to the optional graphics chipsets available when purchasing Macs Pro, Apple also posted on its online store two options for upgrading graphics cards not only for newly launched towers, but also for early 2009 models.
Both ATI Radeon HD 5770 and ATI Radeon HD 5870 include 1GB of GDDR5 memory, use the PCI Express 2.0 interface and include two Mini DisplayPorts and a dual-link DVI port. They not only increase the video capacity of Macs Pro, but also allow the use of more dedicated monitors.
The HD 5700 costs R $ 1,050 in Brazil (US $ 250 in the United States), while the HD 5870 costs R $ 1,800 (US $ 450 in the USA).
