Apple now requires CPF / CNPJ on Brazilian App Store accounts and now accepts debit cards [atualizado]

In the past few hours, Apple has made a change to App Store and started showing a new dialog box when users try to buy / download new apps, requiring their accounts to be updated.

Apparently there are two novelties: it now demands CPF / CNPJ (depending on whether the account is a Individual or Legal Entity) and, at the top of the data entry screen, it indicates that it now also accepts debit cards on purchases.

"CPF"CPF

The change comes a few months after Apple started accepting national credit cards for purchases on both the App Store and the iTunes Store, thanks to a new circular issued by the Central Bank.

This should certainly greatly increase the reach of Apple's online stores, which until recently required the use of international credit cards.

Who knows, this is also an indication that, soon, everything will start to operate directly in reais?

Debit card option that disappeared from the App Store

The option to register a debit card simply disappeared, indicating that it was either an error or the acceptance of these cards is not yet properly implemented.
