Apple Music loses exclusivity of Ministry of Sound playlists

Just over a year ago, we reported here the deal between Apple and the famous London disco / record label Ministry of Sound, which would put all playlists of the label exclusively on Apple Music. The novelty, of course, would be a full plate for Ma to lure into her electronic music fanfare and house music; the fact that now, 14 months later, the contract has been closed.

According to Music ally, at playlists Ministry of Sound are slowly returning to the other platforms of streaming. Several of them are already available in services like Spotify, O Deeezer it's the YouTube Premium Besides, of course, Apple Music, which, while losing its exclusivity, has not definitively cut ties with the label.

It is not yet known whether the novelty was already foreseen in the contract or if there was any disagreement between Apple and the label to cancel the exclusivity between the two companies. One clue indicates the first option, however: last year, when Ministry of Sound signed the contract with Apple, its channels and playlists on Spotify were not completely deleted they just had their content removed but continued to exist. This indicates that the record company was already predicting that in the near future, it would return platform.

The news, of course, is not very good for Apple, which is coming headlong into the competition against Spotify to attract the most different types of audiences. It is unlikely that the end of exclusivity, however, will take so many subscribers from Ma's service.
