How iOS 12, Apple introduced a new music search option that allows users to search for songs on Apple Music simply by typing a part of the lyrics (ideal for those who know the song, for example, but do not remember the name of the song). The resource, however, was only available in certain countries; now the company is expanding it to even more regions.
Previously available only in Australia, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, now the search for letters has reached South Africa, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Mexico and New Zealand neither Brazil nor Portugal are part of the list, yet .
If you live / have an Apple ID set up in one of these countries and want to enjoy the feature, just access Apple Music (you need to subscribe to the service, obviously), tap the "Search" tab, select "Apple Music" in the search area and type the music part. Like any search, it can work even if you misspell a word.
It is likely that the resource will continue to expand to even more countries, especially after the close partnership between Apple and Genius, last October. Letter support is available on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Android.
Apple Maps Expansions
Speaking of resource expansions, Apple Maps users in some countries can now access internal airport maps and itineraries. More specifically, public transport information was made available in Belgium, Manila (in the Philippines), Switzerland, Wyoming and Iowa (in the United States).
At these locations, Maps users can obtain routes using public transport information available in their states or countries. Coverage includes train, metro and bus routes in major cities, as well as other external connections (in the case of countries such as Belgium).
In addition, Ma has also expanded the availability of airport interior maps in new countries and regions. All of the following airports now support the feature:
- Brisbane International Airport (Australia);
- Melbourne Airport (Australia);
- Chbu Centrair International Airport (Japan);
- Narita International Airport (Japan);
- Cincinnati International Airport (USA);
- Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (USA);
- Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (USA);
Maps of the interior of airports and shopping malls were introduced in iOS 11 and provide information on stores, food courts and sizes (in the case of airports) with specific icons and internal routes. In Brazil and Portugal, both resources are not yet available, including point-to-point navigation information.
