Apple may put more money in Didi Chuxing due to an investment by SoftBank

Many people found it quite peculiar when the Applesuddenly invested $ 1 billion in a Chinese hitchhiking company, Didi Chuxing. From l to c, the startup which already had a large part of the Chinese market, has grown even more (even acquiring the Chinese Uber unit) and has even started projects with self-driving cars.

As the Bloomberg, now the company would be evaluating an offer of $ 6 billion coming from the Japanese SoftBank Group. This would be the biggest investment ever received by Didi and the possible acceptance of the offer may end up affecting several investors, such as Ma itself, Tencent, Alibaba, Foxconn and more than 100 others. For this reason, both Apple and the giant are considering whether to participate in the investment as a pro-rata, to avoid diluting their stakes.

SoftBank has been one of Didi's investors since 2014; however, it is unclear whether the $ 6 billion would come from the Japanese company itself or whether the $ 100 billion from the SoftBank Vision Fund, which is yet to close and in which Apple is also an investor.

For the time being, the information has been collected from sources related to the companies, there is no confirmation or official comments on the case.
