Apple may pass Foxconn notebook orders to Quanta in 2010

According to an article published earlier today by the DigiTimes, Apple is gradually migrating its notebook manufacturing orders (MacBooks / MacBooks Pro / MacBooks Air) from Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) to Quanta Computer, both strong competitors in the Asian market.

The reasons for the change were not disclosed, but three factors are considered: manufacturing costs, quality of manufacture and working conditions of employees.

Sony is reportedly in the same pack as Apple. On the other hand, Foxconn already seems to have signed good OEM contracts with Hewlett-Packard (HP), Dell and ASUSTeK Computer for 2010.
