Apple may launch 14 ″ MacBook Pro, new iMac Pro and more products with Mini-LED screens in 2020

There is a rumor that has been commented on for a long time, but it had never been corroborated by any of the most renowned sources in the Apple world: yes, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, O MacBook Pro 13 inch screen and, taking the same path as your most expensive brother, give way to a new 14.1 inch model and scissor keyboard, apparently in 2020. And that's not all: it already comes with Mini-LED screen, Apparently.

The forecast is just one of many that Kuo made in his most recent note to investors, all involving products with Mini-LED screens. According to the analyst, Apple will launch later this year six products equipped with the new technology: in addition to the 14 "MacBook Pro, we will have a new version of 16 ″ MacBook Pro, a new 12.9 ″ iPad Pro, a new 10.2 ″ iPad, a new 7.9 ″ iPad mini and a new 27 ″ iMac Pro.

Kuo did not give any specific predictions of when these products will be released except in the case of the new iMac Pro, which he said will arrive in the fourth quarter of this year. It is worth remembering that the analyst had already planned for the end of 2020 the arrival of iPads Pro and MacBooks Pro with Mini-LED screens, so it is possible that we will have to wait until the last quarter to see them, even.

The analyst even notes that the pace of production of the new devices is within the forecast in China even with the effects of the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19); as a result, the schedule for launching products should not change until the end of the year.

What Mini-LED?

About Mini-LED technology, specifically, we have already talked about it a few times. If you have not followed the previous articles on the novelty, the is a summary: it is a “middle ground” technology between the traditional LCD and OLED, in which small points of light (the Mini-LEDs themselves) they are spread over the entire surface of the panel. This allows screens to be thinner and have higher contrast / dynamic range rates, as in OLED, but without the common disadvantages of these panels (such as burn-in).

It is worth remembering, moreover, that the Mini-LED is different from the Micro-LED, a much more recent (and expensive) technology that is still in its infancy in electronic devices.

And who liked the forecasts?
