Apple with record sales

Exceeding expectations, Apple Apple made a profit of $ 1.21 billion (935 million euros) in its second fiscal quarter, ending March 28, an increase of 15 percent over the same period in 2008.

Between January and March last, the manufacturer’s revenues totaled 8.16 billion dollars (6.29 billion euros).

Sales of iPhones and new iPod models contributed to the results obtained in the period after the Christmas holidays.

In its second fiscal quarter, Apple sold 3.79 million iPhones, up 123 percent. IPod sales totaled 11 million units, three percent more than in 2008.

Mac sales fell three percent to 2.22 million units.
