Apple launches new iPod touch with A10 Fusion chip and up to 256GB of space

We have good and bad news: the good thing is that Apple today launched a new iPod touch! The bad thing is that it is not everything that some expected (although some rumors already indicated this path) …

The new device (seventh generation) has performance improvements (thanks to the chip A10 Fusion, present in iPhones 7 and 7 Plus), the main novelty being support for Group FaceTime and augmented reality. It is now also possible to have up to 256GB space (before, we had 32GB and 128GB models available). For the rest, we’re basically talking about the same product (4 ″ screen, 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.2MP front camera, no Touch ID or Face ID, etc.) – which many may understand as a missed opportunity from Apple , to really create an attractive product and compatible with the reality of 2019.

“We are making the iOS device more accessible, even better, with performance twice as fast as before, Group FaceTime and augmented reality from just $ 199,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of product marketing. “IPod touch’s ultra-thin, lightweight design has always made it ideal for enjoying games, music and more wherever you go.”

Available in pink, silver, space gray, gold, blue and red, the new iPod touch costs R $ 1,700 (32GB), R $ 2,500 (128GB) or R $ 3,300 (256GB) – before, the 32GB model was priced at R $ 1,300 ( increase of 30.7%) and 128GB for R $ 2,000 (increase of 25%). They are still unavailable for purchase in Brazil, as they need to be approved by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).

In the United States, they cost $ 200, $ 300 and $ 400 respectively.
