Apple launches iBooks StoryTime, exclusive app for Apple TV

J taking advantage of the novelty of having direct links in exclusive applications for the Apple TV fourth generation, Ma quietly released a new (and cute) app for their set-top box: O iBooks StoryTime.

Focused on children, the app takes iBooks TV by Ma, offering several works in order to encourage little ones to read. In addition to being able to access books with letters and images in a much larger size, there are also titles with a feature called Read-Aloud (something like “reading aloud”).

O Read-Aloud it is almost a karaok of books: the child hears an audio narration and can follow along with the help of subtitles. If this option is turned on, the pages will be turned automatically, according to the narration; if the option is turned off, the user can use Siri Remote to change the page.

IBooks StoryTime offers your family a different way to try classic children's books or discover new ones. With the narration of Read-Aloud and beautiful illustrations, each hand-picked title in the app transforms Apple TV.

For the time being the titles offered are few, most likely because you need to customize the platform books. But to promote the new app, Apple is offering a free download of Doras Big Buddy Race.

Unfortunately, the app is not yet available on the Brazilian App Store, but whoever has the American account can now download it for free.

Still on the subject of Apple TV, Ma released the universal search to three more applications: CW Seed (available in the United States), MUBI and Hopster (both available in the USA, Australia, Canada and the UK). Of course, this expansion has not yet arrived in Brazil and, if not even other large countries arrived right, I think it will take a while to paint around here.
